Once again we will be offering a Confirmation program for those in grades 7 – 12. If you are interested in knowing more and/or want to sign up please call or email Brandon.

Confirmation is a way for young people to explore the details of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ in more detail than they are often able to in a youth group or Sunday School setting. Every student or “confirmand” in the program will be matched up with an adult mentor for roughly 14 weeks to discuss topics ranging from “God the Father” to “Vocation.” The meetings take place at a time and place that works best for each student and mentor. The end goal is that every student will be able to make an informed decision at the end of the process and stand up to claim their faith as their own (not simply the faith of their parents or church). Those who do will be baptized (if they have not been previously) and “confirmed” in their faith during Sunday morning service. They will also become members of our church.

This is one of the best experiences that we offer the youth of our church. Mentor-confirmand relationships often last long after young people have left for college and careers. If you know of someone that you believe would make a good mentor for our students please let Brandon or the office know. We will also be taking mentor nominations from those signing up for Confirmation. Please do not attempt to set up a mentor for a student before signing up for Confirmation. The final decisions will be prayerfully made by pastoral staff and session in consultation with the student’s parents. Remember to contact Brandon if you are interested in signing up.
